In 2001 the heavy metal band W.A.S.P. produced the album "Unholy Terror", evidently a tribute to the popular notion of the Antichrist.
The lyrics of songs such as "Unholy Terror" and "Charisma" are a chilling slander of the world and its vices personified in the ambitions of a solitary individual who dominates the world by seducing it thus:
Vatican Man
Preaching fear and using religion
With the bible and Koran
I wrap myself in the American Flag
And tell people I'm for which it stands
Lead singer Blackie Lawless boldly claims, "I got them all marching to the rhythm". By following this link, you may listen to a Youtube set-to-video version of "Charisma" featuring Pope John Paul II, Adolf Hitler, and a series of Republican American presidents, beginning with Richard Nixon; an unofficial opinion of Lawless' rhythm:

While the album "Unholy Terror" appeals to the negative aspects of human nature, it does illustrate the awe of power, charisma, worship, nationalism, and even race in public debate. Groups such as W.A.S.P. are typically marginalized by the mainstream, yet these outcasts have tapped into mythologies and symbolism thus proving that while they are out of touch they are not out of tune.
I advocate a different version of the Antichrist.
