Donate to Pakistan Disaster Relief

We Newsviners are accustomed to vigorously debating theory, but in moments such as that faced by millions of homeless and hungry Pakistanis, theory takes second place to the hand-to-mouth issues of daily survival. For days, the news has been flush with reports of the humanitarian tragedy befallen ordinary Pakistanis -- people like you and me -- in the wake of unprecedented flooding.

We have an opportunity to show our practicality by donating our Newsvine earnings for disaster relief in Pakistan. Many of us showed our common humanity and goodwill following the Haiti Earthquake. Newsviners contributed handsomely to the relief effort there. Pakistan needs our help also.

I am donating the current balance of my Newsvine account, $34.28, to the Red Cross. I pray that God will multiply this amount like the Loaves and the Fishes. Please contribute what you can and encourage others here to do likewise.
