But most shocking was how many of the single men wanted to settle down—and how willing they were to lower their standards to make that happen. A whopping 31 percent of adult men said they’d commit to a person they were not in love with—as long as as she had all the other attributes they were looking for in a mate—and 21 percent said they'd commit under those same circumstances to somebody they weren't sexually attracted to.

I interviewed my maternal grandparents a long time ago. I asked them about love and relationships and what it was like to be married. My grandfather told me that when they married they weren't in love, they were just good friends with similar interests that had a lot of trust in each other. Over time they grew to love one another and with love comes hardship and hard times but during those moments they had one thing that a lot of couples don't seem to place enough importance on, friendship and with that trust. Those two together got them through over 70 years of marriage. They didn't look for perfection or even look for the abstract of love, they looked for a relationship based on the right ingredients that would be strong enough to last and it did. Love is an abstract concept, friendship can be measured.

Quality women are just few are far between these days. Most women are "dating" thugs, bad boys, jailbirds, controlling abusers, monied @!$%#s or hood-rats you know what's exciting. Men should under NO circumstance accept anything less than what they offer IMO. Women who are frumpy, bad attitude, overweight, multiple kids by different fathers or all of the above expect a rich, exciting, handsome dude from GQ. The expectations for women are ridiculous. It is entitlement.

To me the real key to happiness for a man is to not get attached emotionally or financially and just play the field. Date for a while and move on. It cuts out the whole facade of an actual mutual relationship which doesn't exist whether married, single or dating.
